Amira has one little primrose and plenty to be thankful for.

She waters it.
Watches it.
Says alhamdulillah.

Then the petals fall.

In the family garden she learns what comes next: care for what is still there, gather the tiny seeds the flower left behind, and wait for another spring.

Gratitude follows her through the flowers, the disappointment and the beginning again.

Inspired by Surah Ibrahim, The Thankful Garden gives alhamdulillah a place inside the ordinary rhythm of childhood.

Gratitude is not presented as a bargain that makes every good thing stay.
It becomes a way of noticing what was given, what remains, what may grow next and what can still be shared.

We did not want to hand a child the word gratitude and hope it stuck. So she gets a fig instead, off a branch bending under the weight of it, something she can hold and taste and thank Him for.

The word can come later. The feeling has to come first.

This is the spread we rewrote the most. Yusuf’s part had to remain real: he did plant it. And the growing had to remain something he could never do for himself. Both truths sit in one breath, so effort and trust never end up on opposite sides.

Then we stopped. No “because”. No “therefore”. No moral added afterwards. The moment had already said enough.
