More Than Enough
The tray grows lighter. The day grows fuller.
An Eid morning, a tray of date-filled maamoul and one small question about what happens when we give something away.

Read More Than Enough
Teta’s kitchen is full of warm maamoul for Eid.
Amira has never seen so many.
“How many are for me?”
Then she picks up the tray and starts walking.
A plate goes to family. Then to friends. Then along the street to the neighbours.
And every time someone takes one, Amira watches for the moment when there will no longer be enough.
Instead, something else keeps growing.
Smiles. Friendship. Eid greetings. A warm feeling in her own chest that was not there when the tray was full.
Inspired by Surah Al-Kawthar, More Than Enough begins with a feeling children know very well: if I give some away, will there still be enough for me?
Amira is not lectured out of the question.
She gets to watch the answer unfold.
What could you give that would make someone feel remembered?
